Tejada and Ramirez Activated for Subway Series Finale

The Mets have activated both Rubin Tejada and Ramon Ramirez from the 15 day disabled list. To make room for these two, New York optioned Jordany Valdespin to AAA Buffalo. They have yet to announce who they will send to clear room for Ramirez.

Frank Francisco might be heading to the 15 day disabled list because of his oblique. Manager Terry Collins already announced that he will not be availible for tonight vs. the Yankees.

It’s great that the Mets are getting these two back. Tejada has been great for the Mets when he has been around this season.  As for Ramirez, he hasn’t been spectacular this season but he is a guy with a great upside.  He seems to be coming at the perfect time as the Mets seem to be short-handed in the bullpen with Francisco unavailible.  If he does go to the DL I would imagine Jon Rauch would take over the role for closer temporarily.
